There’s always a goal or an ideal towards which actions are oriented. As things should be.

If things are as they should be: you need to continue doing what you are doing.

If they are not: you need to work until they are ideal.

The reality of the moment is: as things are. It’s the acceptance and full cognizance of present situation which gives you the ground on which you can work. If in case of less than ideal results you are so excited that denial of the situation results: you can’t work to bring about the change towards the ideal. Similarly: you can’t recognise any changes which are taking place towards the same direction.

The equanimity and mindfulness go hand-in-hand. They’re aspects of Karma Yoga. Skillful action brings about perfection or accomplishment.
