At first I was surprised to read a new word on the windshield of a white transport bus going towards Khajuraho. Later it occurred that it was Punjabi funny transfiguration of Sanskrit Devendra. Devendra is a conjunction of Deva and Indra. Deva means godly whereas Indra means king of gods or one who has subdued senses or performed highest number of sacrifices to claim the divine throne. Indra is wielder of the vajra, the thunderbolt, which is considered the most powerful weapon in indian myths. Vrijapura is a village which is named after mythical abode Vrija, where Krishna was born. It had plenty of cows and maybe buffaloes too. This village here has only buffaloes as they are profitable for business. Some dozen of milkman travel to nearby town everyday and no cows are seen here.
